Commercial Pool Monitor Installation Checklist

Short answer

Check the 2-inch return line first. The Amano unit goes after the filter and before other gear. The site needs 120V, 40 GPM or more, and 10 PSI or more when the pump runs.

Check cell bars, a safe path, and the shutoff plan. Name the person who will do the work. Name the person who will own the unit. A desk check does not take the place of a site check.

1. Check the pipe spot

Name the pool and its return line.
Check that the pipe is 2 inches wide.
Put the unit after the filter.
Place it before other return-line equipment.
Make sure there is safe room for the work.
Mark each valve and bit of gear that can change the flow.

2. Check flow and pressure

Do not guess from the pump tag. Check for 40 GPM or more. Check for 10 PSI or more. Run the pool in the same state it will use for set tests.

Log the pump, valves, filter, flow, and pressure. Log any run plan that can change them. One read does not prove that each pump state will work.

3. Check power and cell bars

Check the current Amano guide for its 120V need.
Have trained people do all pipe and power work.
Pick a safe cord path. Keep it out of wet spots.
Check cell bars in the pump room.
Do not ask for site Wi-Fi. Cell data is built in.

4. Name who owns each task

5. Log the start and handoff

Clear names for the site, pool, and unit.
The pipe spot and gear state.
A check of power, flow, and pressure.
The first set test and any hand test in the start plan.
The alert owner, back-up owner, and call steps.
The right care and liquid use steps.
Work that stays with the tech, operator, and site.
